Publish a Mobile App

Mobile apps support iOS only for now. Once published, users install the app from the App Store.

Fill in the app configuration

Before publishing, fill in the iOS app configuration in the editor. Momen uses these values to sign and package the app and upload it to App Store Connect; if the configuration is incomplete, the publish panel asks you to complete it first. You need to join the Apple Developer Program  before filling it in.

In the mobile app client, open Settings and select App, then fill in the fields below.

FieldDescriptionWhere to find it
App display nameName shown under the app icon on the home screenYour choice
Bundle IDUnique app identifier, e.g. com.example.myappApple Developer → Identifiers
Team ID10-character identifier of your Apple developer teamApple Developer → Membership details

Save is enabled only after every field is filled in.

App display name

The name users see on their home screen. The name shown on the App Store is set separately in the App Information of App Store Connect, and the two can differ.

Bundle ID

  1. Register the Bundle ID: sign in to Apple Developer , go to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles → Identifiers, click + to register an App ID, choose Explicit, and enter the Bundle ID.
  2. Create the app record: sign in to App Store Connect , go to Apps, click + → New App, and select the Bundle ID registered in the previous step under Bundle ID.
  3. Enter it in the app configuration: enter the Bundle ID in Bundle ID exactly as registered. It is case-sensitive.
⚠️

Momen looks up the app in App Store Connect by Bundle ID, and publishing fails if the app record does not exist or its Bundle ID does not match. Do not change the Bundle ID after the app is published: a different Bundle ID is treated as a different app and requires a new app record.

Team ID

Sign in to Apple Developer , go to Account → Membership details, and copy the Team ID. It consists of 10 letters and digits.

The Team ID must belong to the developer team that registered the Bundle ID. Momen uses it to manage signing certificates and provisioning profiles automatically, so no certificate upload is needed.

Issuer ID, ASC key, and Auth key

All three come from the same App Store Connect API key and are obtained together.

  1. Generate an API key: sign in to App Store Connect , go to Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API → Team Keys, and click +. Enter a key name and set access to Admin.
  2. Copy the Issuer ID: copy the Issuer ID at the top of the Team Keys page into Issuer ID. It looks like 57246542-96fe-1a63-e053-0824d011072a; an invalid format cannot be saved.
  3. Copy the Key ID: find the new key in the list and copy its Key ID into ASC key.
  4. Download and upload the private key: click Download to get the AuthKey_<Key ID>.p8 file, then upload it in Auth key.
⚠️

The .p8 file can be downloaded only once. If you lose it, revoke the key, generate a new one, and update both ASC key and Auth key.

ASC key and Auth key must belong to the same key. The uploaded private key is stored encrypted and used only when packaging for publishing.

App icon

Upload a 1024×1024 PNG image; other sizes are rejected. Momen generates all required icon sizes from it.

Use a square image without transparency and without rounded corners. iOS applies the corner mask automatically.

Create a preview

In the publish panel, click preview. Momen packages the iOS app and uploads it to App Store Connect, which usually takes about 30 minutes. Once it succeeds:

  1. Open App Store Connect and check that the build has finished processing.
  2. Go to TestFlight and add your testers.
  3. Testers open TestFlight on their device to install or update the app.

After changing the app, click Preview again to build a new version.

Submit for App Store review

  1. Enter a version and upload: in the publish panel, click Publish, enter a version, and confirm. Momen packages the app again and uploads it to App Store Connect. The version needs at least two parts, for example 1.0 or 1.0.0, and must be greater than the latest version on the App Store. If the latest version has not been released yet, you can reuse its version number. Version numbers can never go back.
  2. Submit for review in App Store Connect: once the build has finished processing, pick it, write the release notes, check the app information and screenshots, and submit for review.
⚠️

A first submission also needs the app information, screenshots, and privacy details filled in on App Store Connect before review will accept it.

Common issues

  1. Save is disabled: check that every field is filled in, App icon and Auth key are uploaded, and the Issuer ID format is valid.
  2. Publishing reports that the app cannot be found: confirm that the app record exists in App Store Connect and that its Bundle ID exactly matches the one in the app configuration.
  3. Publishing reports an invalid key: confirm that ASC key, Issuer ID, and Auth key come from the same key and that the key has not been revoked.
  4. A new version cannot be submitted: a version on the App Store is in review, or approved but not released yet. Wait for the review to finish, or cancel the submission or release it on App Store Connect, then submit again.
