Project Management and Collaboration

This guide explains how to create and maintain projects and invite other developers to participate. Project collaborator roles control whether developers can edit or manage a project. They are separate from the roles assigned to application users under Permissions.

Projects

Create a project

Create a project in any of these ways:

  • Create a blank project to start without existing project configuration.
  • Start from a template to use the template’s pages, data, and action configuration as the initial project content.
  • Clone an existing project to create a new project from an existing one.

Projects created from templates include a three-day trial of Basic or Pro features.

To clone a project, right-click it in the User Center and select Clone project. Before creating the copy, choose whether to copy project data:

OptionResult
Copy project dataAlso copies database records; uses database storage in the new project and takes longer
Do not copy project dataCopies project configuration without database records

Select Create to finish cloning the project.

Reset a project

Resetting restores the project to the state in which it was created. A project created from a template returns to the template’s initial state.

⚠️

A reset cannot be undone. It deletes database records, stored files, frontend pages, data models, permissions, APIs, Actionflows, AI Agents, and other project configuration.

  1. Open the project and go to Settings → Project Reset.
  2. Review the deletion scope and enter the requested confirmation text.
  3. Select Confirm reset.

Project hibernation and automatic deletion

An unpublished Free project automatically hibernates after seven consecutive days without editor access or changes. Hibernation does not delete project content. Reopen the project to reactivate it.

An unpublished Free project is automatically deleted after six consecutive months without editor access or changes. Automatic deletion cannot be undone.

The project Owner can also delete a project manually from the User Center. Manual deletion takes effect immediately, cannot be undone, and cancels the project subscription.

Project collaboration

Invite collaborators

Open collaborator management from either location:

  • Select Invite Collaborators in the upper-right corner of the editor.
  • In the User Center, select a project and open Manage Project → Manage Collaborators.

Invite collaborators by sharing an invitation link or entering their email addresses. Assign a project role to each collaborator after inviting them.

Transfer a project

Transferring a project moves ownership and management rights to another user. The recipient must already be a project collaborator.

Discounted projects, including Education editions, cannot be transferred.

After the transfer, the two users exchange project roles. For example, when a project is transferred to a Viewer, the recipient becomes the Owner and the previous Owner becomes a Viewer.

  1. Open collaborator management from any of these locations:
    • Right-click the project in the User Center and select Share the project and Manage collaborators.
    • In the User Center, select Manage → Collaborators Management.
    • Open the project and select Invite Collaborators in the upper-right corner.
  2. Add the recipient as a collaborator.
  3. Change the recipient’s project role to Owner.
  4. Enter the confirmation information requested by the transfer dialog and submit.
